  A lead therapist used malfunctioning blood restriction therapy machine/cuff (it failed to work twice before the cuff seemed to register blood pressure). He did not monitor machine or patient closely during her session and when she showed signs of extreme distress he pushed her to continue telling her if she quit she would gain no benefits. She was in pain. I ended the session and was alarmed by both her physical distress and the way her leg looked-- more like outright tourniquetting than pooling arterial blood. I tried to get a return on remaining pre-payments for the blood restriction therapy. There was no way I was putting her through another occlusion session. Initially was told I could get a reduced refund. Had several conversations (in person and on phone) and a voicemail from 1/17 approving a reduced and partial refund of 73.40 out of 210 paid for a bundled pack of blood restriction therapy sessions. Was told "the check would go out," several months later-still no check. When I called NBSSPT and was told that I had a balance of 3.40 which I could get as a check. Was told the remaining 70 had been used to square up insurance billing. I thought this was odd b/c a. Had a voicemail authorizing a credit for the 73.40 and b. our insurance denied all claims for therapy and we paid "in full" at each "regular" (not bfr) visit. I have had an extensive email correspondence with NBSSPT. After my first review of the clinic, NBSSPT sent a check for the 73.40 stipulated in the January voicemail. I cannot endorse bfr therapy based on our experience and would encourage parents to remain with minor children during sessions. Also helpful to look up how pt clinics structure billing and request paper copies of itemized bills at each visit.

  I have had a wonderful experience as a patient at this clinic! Everyone has a positive attitude and is very warm and welcoming. The scheduling coordinators do a great job. The occupational therapist (Mike) and the physical therapist (Tim) are extremely professional and highly trained! I have a degree in occupational therapy and was very impressed by the specialty focus of this clinic.
